Pourashava is always committed to make the best use of its potentialities for well being of the citizens of Moulvibazar. Through this website pourashava's services would be more easily available at the doorsteps of city dwellers.

Md. Fayzul Karim Moyun, a reknown and vibrant personality, was born on 1st July 1959 in a respectable Muslim family in Sadar Thana under Moulvibazar District, Bangladesh. He is from Dajbali Village of Kanakpur Union. His father, Alhaj Shah Abdul Mosobbir is renowned businessman and social worker. Mr. Moyun obtained M.Com. degree in Management under Dhaka University. He is a tax lawyer in his professional life.

Mr. Fayzul Karim Moyun is elected Chairman of Moulvibazar Pourashava and working hard hearted for the development of the area. He became elected as Chairman on 8th May 2003 by a general election. During his period, he has taken steps for the financial matter of Pourashava to have stable position. Moreover enormous development work like roads, footpaths, drain development & maintenance, master plan, town planning, social & cultural works, street lighting, water supply, conservancy, mosquito control works are increasing day by day. Poura Bus Terminal, TC Market, Mini super Market are his remarkable development works during his tenure. Shahid Chattar, luxurious Audotorium, West Bazar multi storied Kitchen Market, Poura Sebok Nibash, Truck Terminal and Chairman Chattar in the jurisdiction of pourashava are some of his top priority projects which will be implemented within shot span of time. Citizen Charter, which is really a successful work of him to make the pourashava accountable and transparent with all aspects of administration and to provide services for the dwellers of the city within short time.

As a dynamic politician he is now holding the rank of General Secretary of Moulvibazar district Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for all most five years. He was also former President and General Secretary of Moulvibazar Sadar Thana BNP.

“Mosobbir-Karim Shishu Sadan” is established by his initiatives and he is the Founder of the organization and holding the rank of Founder President, which is doing its activities for the greater welfare of the orphan and distress children of this area. He carried out the responsibility of President and Secretary of the "Rotary Club” of Moulvibazar District. He was the Secretary of “Public Library”, Moulvibazar Unit and Former member of "National Social Welfare Council". He was also secretary and honorable life member of “Red Crescent” Moulvibazar Unit. Dhaka based social welfare organization "Moulvibazar Zila Chhatra Kalayan Samity," was established by personal initiative of Mr. Moyun for the purposes of serving and guiding students of Moulvibazar who are studying in various Colleges and Universities in Dhaka city. He was the founder President of the organization. He was elected Magazine Secretary of Modan Mohon College Students’ Union during the period of 1980 to 1981 and honorable life member of Dhaka based “Moulvibazar Samity”. He was the president of governing body of Syed Shah Mostufa College. At present he is holding the position of Vice President Moulvibazar Club and Bangladesh Scout, Moulvibazar district.

He was founder member (Planning and Implementation) of Unnayan Sahayak Sangstha (USS), Dhaka. As an energetic and efficient personality, he had taken a lot of improvement initiatives to have above-mentioned social organizations and educational institutions running smoothly. Including strengthening financial capacity, improve office environment and to have better telecommunication facilities.

Mr. Moyun, as a Chairman of Moulvibazar Pourashava went to Manila, Philippine, Headquarter of Asian Development Bank (ADB) with a team of best performing high profile delegates in 2006. It was an official invitation from ADB to visit Manila for the purposes of meeting with the head of south Asia region of ADB and to see the conditions of development works there for second best performance in Urban Governance Infrastructure Improvement Project (UGIIP) among 22 pourashavas in Bangladesh. He also received Crest and Certificate from Ministry of Local Government Rural Development and Cooperative for above-mentioned performance as a Chairman. UGIIP, implemented and supervised by Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), is an ADB funded best project among all projects in Bangladesh. His active participation in International Arena like joining conferences in Turkey helped to understand all about his vision for the development of Moulvibazar Pourashava. Moreover he visited many countries like UK, Italy, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Saudi Arab, Nepal and India for various purposes. He received National Tree Plantation Certificate from the then honorable Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.  In his family life he is a father of two sons and one daughter.
